So Prime Minister Badawi has name his cabinet. Its a good cabinet except that those not contesting the election and are not elected by the people are also included in the cabinet!! What's the use of holding the General Election if you are going to appoint any Tom, Dick and Harry to your cabinet. A defeated candidate is appointed as adviser to the Prime Minister in a Ministry that already has a Minister!! What gives? Looks like the BN are going to get a bigger beating in the next General Election.
Malays are not happy in the states that UMNO had lost. They are staging protest and getting away with it. Remember when the Indians (HINDRAF) stage a protest against being unfairly treated, a few of them got arrested. I ask the opposition state government esp. DAP to stand firm and not be kick about like MCA by the Malay extremist. Some are calling for Chinese and Indians to be sent back to where they came. Its as ridiculous as me calling for China to invade Malaysia!!!

The Aftermath
So the Malaysian Election 2008 is over and as the dust cleared the ruling Barisan National are left to count its casualties. It lost its two third majority in Parliament and a few states to the opposition. The weak leadership of Prime Minister Badawi did not help but it is the arrogant attitude of UMNO, the main component party of the coalition that caused the downfall. It alienated ethnic minorities with their pro Malay policies in government and their antics like brandishing the keris (malay dagger) during their general assembly. Perhaps UMNO has to learn to eat humble pie if they want others to support them in the future.
